Monday Morning Poetry

For this week’s edition of MMP, I’m choosing a poem I found in Sally Lloyd-Jones’s The Jesus Storybook Bible. The poem was written by Josiah Conder. Enjoy:

Tis not that I did choose Thee,

For Lord, that could not be;

This heart would still refuse Thee,

Hadst Thou not chosen me . . .

My heart owns none before Thee,

For Thy rich grace I thirst;

This knowing, if I love Thee,

Thou must have loved me first.

I know it’s a short one this week, but stay tuned for my top 10 books of 2014.
